Havila Voyages is a new operator on the traditional mail boat route along the Norwegian coast with its fjords. On board you can expect Norwegian dining tradition at its finest, as well as generously equipped cabins. Marvelling at the scenery from the promenade and viewing deck as well as from the observation lounge is at the heart of the travel experience.
Two textile saunas await guests on deck 8, and there is also a warm whirlpool on the aft deck.
Havila Voyages places a special focus on sustainability:
Havila Voyages' current four coastal cruise ships are equipped with the largest battery packs ever installed on a passenger ship, which means we can sail for four hours at a time with zero emissions. This means you can visit sensitive ecosystems such as the World Heritage-listed Geirangerfjord without having to worry about environmental issues. And all in silence: the battery packs supplied by Corvus weigh 86 tonnes and have a capacity of 6.1 megawatt hours.
The batteries are charged with clean hydropower on land and when we are not using the batteries, we run on liquefied natural gas (LNG), which - together with the general, efficient hybrid operation - reduces CO2 emissions by around 35 per cent. NOx emissions are reduced by 90 per cent. By gradually adding biogas, CO2 emissions can be reduced to 50 per cent by 2023 and to 80 per cent by 2024.
